FAQ’S

What is Permanent Jewelry? Permanent Jewelry is a chain of your choice, sized specifically for you that is micro-welded onto your wrist, ankle, neck, etc. The piece does not have a clasp to take on and off, so it stays on you until you decide to remove it.

How much does it cost? Our prices vary but you can view all of our chains, prices, and services here.

Does The Welding Hurt? No the welder does not react with anything other than metal. Safety glasses are worn by the provider & client during the weld, because the machine omits a bright light that can damage the naked eye.

What if my piece breaks or I need to take it off for some reason? We offer 1 free revision or reattachment for each piece we sell - this covers breakage, MRI/surgery removal, and resizing. To book a revision, click here & select “Revision” for a free appointment.

How do I remove my piece if I need to? If you need to remove your bracelet, clip it off with a pair of nail clippers or wire cutters and try to cut it on the jump ring if possible - if you can’t find it, just clip a small link so the chain stays close to the same size.

Can I get a repair on a piece I purchased somewhere else? YES! Normally we charge about $25 for repairs but if you purchase another piece of permanent jewelry from us during your appointment, the fee is only $15. Click here to book an appointment!

Parking at our studio? Street parking is free with no time limit! There are “no parking” signs placed near driveways so people don’t accidentally block private entryways but everything else is open!

Walk ins? We are by appointment only, but we do accept last minute bookings! Please use our booking system to check availability first, if we don’t have something available, feel free to call us (919) 275 0699. Note: we only open our calendar 2-3 weeks in advance to avoid no-shows so if your ideal date is more than a month out, feel free to reach out to us via text/DM/email and we can make a note of it.

After care for jewelry? Our chains are high quality & tarnish resistant - guaranteed for 2 years, but most will last longer. Discoloration is normally caused by buildup (sunscreen, lotion, makeup, dead skin, etc.) use soap liberally to break down the buildup in your jewelry links. If your jewelry turns quickly or isn’t responding to the soap, feel free to book a revision appointment and we will chemically shine it in the shop.

Metals? Gold filled: A layer of gold that is pressure bonded to another base metal (usually brass or sterling silver). Gold-filled chain has approximately 100x more gold in it than gold-plated chains - we estimate our gold chains will last at least 3 years. Sterling Silver: .925 Sterling silver is an alloy composed by weight of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals. Fine Silver, which is 99.9% solid silver, is much softer so sterling is typically used in jewelry and while it’s possible it will oxidize or break, it should be easy to shine up.

Payment Methods? We accept all major credit/debit cards & cash & Apple/Google/Samsung Pay.

Is this something I should tip for? No! We appreciate you thinking of us, but there is no pressure to tip! We love our repeat customers, the best tip you can give us is to come back to see us again or leave us a positive google review!

Discounts? We have priced our chains honestly (we aim to be slightly lower priced most other permanent jewelry providers offering similar chains/services). Some private events have coordinators that choose to pay a fee in advance that does give their guests discounts or comps their permanent jewelry experience entirely - for more information, reach out to hello@heir-raleigh.com.

Custom options? We offer natural gemstone add ons ($20) and half-silver half-gold options where you can pick two gold & silver chains you would like to combine & we just charge the price of the more expensive chain.

I have a charm I want to bring & have attached; is that okay? Yes! Feel free to bring a charm you feel comfortable having attached to your new piece from us. We recommend the size of the charm be less than .25” on bracelets to avoid snagging but you’re always welcome to send us photos before your appointment to confirm. If you are purchasing a pendant or charm from Etsy, we also suggest checking to make sure materials will last (gold-filled or sterling silver are our recommendations).
